Following the recent trend of dad shoes and chunky sneakers, Nike has released a modern rendition of the Air Monarch that originally dropped way back in 2002. Tagged the “M2K Tekno,” the trendy re-build of the Monarch features a more complex look with mixed material paneling, a bulkier body, and a chunkier heel. As compared to the Monarch, the M2K Tekno features a smaller swoosh on the body rather than a big one making it more focused on the shoe itself than the branding.
Shoes like these are slowly becoming acquired taste. When leaked photos for these came out, mixed reactions came out fast like K-Pop rumours. Everyone jumped on the hate train referring them as ugly shoes- guess what? the most hated ones have taken the throne!
Predominantly decked out in the "Tekno Pink" colorway, the color fits the overall look of the shoe, giving it a futuristic almost robotic vibe. The pink gives off that harmless easy going vibe that contrasts perfectly with the shoe's very tech-y vibe. Loud with the right details, we are looking at this shoe as a strong contender in the dad shoe department.
On-feet, they look really good with faded jeans or shorts as they become the centerpiece for anyone's SHOUTFIT. You can never go wrong with black or denim for this one. White matches this one perfectly. We also am looking forward to a perfectly worn out pair of these as they are fast becoming a thing within streetwear circles.
