Since the announced partnership of Louis Vuitton and Virgil Abloh, everyone has been speculating as to how his first sneaker design would look like. Here's a nice hint: it looks like an iconic Jordan shoe.
Pictured above are what seems to be Virgil Abloh's first ever sneaker design for the lux fashion house. Also, along with the sneakers, bags and apparel will be on the lineup.
The photos don't reveal much but all we can say is that it's highly influenced by the Nike Air Jordan 3, the cut, the design orientation says it all. The design looks like it will feature the LV monogram and the iconic floral pattern. The uppers bear a very strong resemblance to the 1988 classic sneaker. Fans of the said shoe include Jeff Staple of Staple Design and Nick Diamond of Diamond Supply Co., both influential sneaker designers in their own right.
Abloh himself describes the design as “what I think is a classic sneaker,” adding that he wants to “make it feel more rich” by adding touches of gold or porcelain.
What do you think of this development. Feel free to share and discuss.
