Nike Breaks Barriers and Promotes the LGBTQ Community through the 2018 "Be True" Collection
Monday, 28, May, 2018

Always staying on top of things, Nike reclaims the past and gives us a glimpse of a brighter future through the “Be True” collection, a celebration of the LGBTQ community. The highlighted colors for this collection are the color lavender and the pink triangle.

The color lavender is one of the most picked colors for the LGBTQ culture. A sly mix of light blue and light pink. The colorway then is applied to the Vapormax Plus, Air Max 270, Zoom Fly, and Epic React Flyknit.

The lavender pops with an extra kick by additional colors from the rainbow colorscape through the Vapormax Plus and the Air Max 270, while the Zoom Fly SP higlights a rainbow color application.

The pink triangle is also applied throughout the collection, as it identifies the LGBTQ individuals during WWII, it was also adopted by the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) in their “Silence=Death” campaign throughout the ’80s.

The four sneakers are rounded up with T-shirts, socks, a hat, and a heritage hip pack, dropping everywhere at June 6. This is an interesting collection that brings the community together.

Colorful sneakers are all the rege now. Best check out our triple shoe review on the The Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu “Holi Festival” Pack.
