Dreams do come true with the right ingredients. Of course there's talent, but there's also persistence, luck and right timing. Virgil Abloh is the man.

Virgil Abloh is more than just the dude who designed "The Ten" from Nike or the guy behind OFF-WHITE. He started out first as a kid who regularly sends out sneaker sketches to Nike in Beaverton Oregon which set the tone for his design and aesthetic trademarks. Not only that, his connection with Kanye West through his stint with Donda as a creative director accomplishing stuff like like stage shows and concert merchandise.

He was also immersed in music as he DJ'd as well but not only that. He obtained his bachelor degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and went on to study architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology. After working for an architecture firm for two years, Abloh shifted his focus to fashion.

It wasn't skyrocket success at once for this man. Abloh launched his first fashion brand, Pyrex Vision. He was also a part ogf Been Trill. When Pyrex ended in 2013, Abloh launched his now revered label Off-White. The rest was hype history...

Aside from being a main collaborator of choice for brands, he had Jay-Z, ASAP Rocky, Rihanna and Beyoncé to rep his products. Off-White was an LVMH Prize finalist in 2015.

And this is where history took place. Now he is appointed as the Creative Director of menswear at Louis Vuitton. A grand slam indeed!

"This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams."

If you got a dream, the time is now. Pursue that thing like crazy, draw, design shoes and go for it!

Speaking of history, here's what went down at  Manila Sneaker Expo 6!
