The Air Jordan 1 has long been attempted to be given a modern twist. Some have tried to turn it into a skate shoe, some have given it low top profile, only to land on more criticism and violent reactions.
"If you're to put a twist on a classic, best do it right."
Well, for us this may be the next logical design step in the Air Jordan realm. Introducing the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit.
Heralded as the shoe that started it all from 1985, the shoe truly can't be f'd with. The brave black and red colorway, the hightop construction, the history and its connection to both underground and mainstream scenes were legendary. From patent leather, satin and Flyweave. Now for their latest creation, Jordan Brand has finally given the Air Jordan 1 a Nike Flyknit upper.
Staying true to its classic version, this one thankfully remains faithful to the oldschool look. Banking more on material choices than giving it a drastic change, it's all about the tech aspect. We can't lie, Jordan 1's hurt the feet when worn all day.
Also, the Flyknit tech has been a fan favorite since 2012, so it's a win win when you combine two classic elements into one soon to be classic shoe.
Premium leather can still be found on the swoosh, wings branding and the insoles. The graphic reading “19852017” honors the launch years of the 1 and this actual version. The Zoom Air Unit has also been added for extra comfort.
Overall impressive and a must have if you love the classic shoe. Imagine a modern twist that won't look alienated beside your prized Bred collection. Definitely a classic in the making years from now.
