14-year old Andrew Woodruff fulfilled his dream of visiting the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon just before he lost his battle with bone cancer. As a tribute and in honor of Woodruff, legendary Air Jordan designer Tinker Hatfield is auctioning a handmade artwork of the Air Jordan 3. The sketch highlights Hatfield's hand sporting a pen on top of the sneaker which shows the beauty of creation and art itself. Tinker has this to say:
"The hand is more important than the object. The hand euphemistically is the creator. It’s a statement that is “a little” in opposition to the notion that the sneaker itself is such a marvel. Maybe the story behind it, and the skill to create something from scratch is the marvel. It’s a statement about the importance of collaboration – in this case with Michael Jordan. It’s a PRO DESIGN statement."
Currently on eBay, the highest bid so far is $2,800 USD. The proceeds from this one of a kind auction will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. If you're into the 3's, then the DJ Khaled X Jordan 3 may be your "another one."
