To kick off Pride Month, Nike will release its “Be True” pack this June 1. Two pairs, coming in the form of the Cortez and Flykit Racer have been updated to symbolize Nike’s support with the LGBTQ community.
The Nike Cortez features a classy construction of monotone hues then accented with a rainbow stripe down its alternate pink and blue tongue. The shoe includes a full set of seven laces, one for each color of the Pride Flag, including a silver lace with an inscription “Be True”. A choice for laces is a strong representation to be proud of one’s individuality.
The Nike Flyknit Racer also takes a subtle but impressive design. Quite similar to the black and white pattern of the Flyknit Racer Orca, the updated version has a rainbow Swoosh on the outer panel and a hot pink Swoosh on the opposite side. The Nike tongue tag was also replaced with a “Be True” branding to complete its look.
