Camouflage will always be a staple in streetwear and sneaker circles. When it's applied tastefully on a shoe, the result can be phenomenal. One flavorful collaboration that we went out of our way to grab is K-Swiss' 50th Anniversary celebration with Japanese street fashion label AAPE BY A BATHING APE.
A limited edition release that brings out the legacy of the Classic 66 this time in a custom BAPE colorway. Still faithful to the original, the iconic five stripes, D-Rings, 3-piece toe construction and the shield icon will make for nostalgia among those who owned the OG version.
The shoe is completely decked out printed AAPE signature camouflage along with custom branding on one of the stripes, the heel also features the simian face and the sockliners are decked out in camo as well.
The laces are also covered with AAPE branding all over, a nice touch.
The look and feel of the shoe is amazing. The result is an old school sneaker with a modern take. Ever seen a K-Swiss done this way? We haven't and this one hits it right on the head. Overall a shoe that gives a nod to the 80's and contemporary Japanese streetwear. A winning combination and enough to have us cop a pair.
