The upcoming event also marks the 20th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 12 Retro. As a dedication to the iconic silhouette, the brand released a his-and-hers rendition of the AJ 12 and the all new Jordan 31. The collection already made its debut in China last month and will be having its official U.S. release this January 28.
The Air Jordan 12 flaunts the much loved Taxi colorway but with an oriental twist. The black mud guard and heel tab show some fancy deboss weaves then contrasted with bamboo like lace stays and arch panels. Its tongue and insole encapsulate the overall theme with a loud Chinese New Year Logo. Style and concept is spot on. But what killed it, is the fully reflective upper. The girl version has similar detailing but in an off white and red colorway.
The Air Jordan 31 is a beauty with its sleek gradient black to white upper and translucent ice soles. Its bamboo mid sole heel support and a red Jumpman logo complete the design. All three pairs are impressively designed. Retail price is USD 250 for the AJ 12 and USD 200 for AJ 31.
