The Shoephoric Top 10 Kicks for 2016
Thursday, 29, December, 2016

The year has been mindblowing as far as shoe releases are concerned. Despite the current surge of adidas runners, Nike still holds it down with the classics along with the other staple brands to keep the diversity going. Truly, hype doesn't mean a thing in the Shoephoric world as we cop and rock what makes our hearts beat faster. Much love to the brands who choose to churn out product to drive us into a retail frenzy. Here's our list! (In no particular order)

1. Air Jordan 1 Top 3 - This is a crazy shoe that celebrates the Air Jordan 1 as the most iconic shoe of them all. A culmination of the Breds, Royals and the Chicagos, this one may not have ranked high in terms of value but for us, the concept and the color blocking makes it a top pick.

2. West NYC X Saucony "Fresh Water" Shadow 6000 - An ode to the fine art of fishing, this runner keeps it fresh with an earthy look and pops of blue thrown in for a good measure.

3.  Air Jordan 11 Space Jam - Aside from it bearing the #45, this shoe is a celebration of childhood. This is such an iconic sneaker that deserves to be retroed over and over again. The younger ones should be educated on how big this shoe is both for the sneaker and yes, the movie industry. Bugs Bunny and MJ approved.

4. Puma Clyde X Diamond Supply Co. - Grab a classic shoe, apply the colorway of an iconic skate brand. What do you get? A soon to be classic pair. Simplicity and color blocking at its finest. We had to get a pair.

5. Air Jordan 1 "Banned" Black/ Red - If you had the 2013 Jordan 1's, you'd have to admit that the leather was fine but could have been better. This ought to make up for it. The leather here is phenomental. The type that gets better with age. No frills, it's a Bred 1, it must be copped!

6. BAPE X adidas Originals NMD - Camo being a BAPE trademark, it's a guaranteed hit worldwide. Crazy lines and all, it's all for the ape. Total chaos for a camo runner? It's a jungle out there indeed.

7. adidas Originals Yeezy Boost 350 Beluga - A military looking twist on an already tried and true Yeezy, this one looks really fresh. Who knew that one line across the shoe can make a total difference? Copped!

8. adidas Pharrell Williams X Human Race NMD - Coming from the quirky mind of Pharrell Williams comes a collection that recognizes equality. The colors, the concept, the look. The message is totally inspiring!

9. NikeLab Free Mercurial Flyknit X Olivier Rousteing - A Nikelab Exclusive, this one is part boot, part runner, part designer / avant garde shoe. Draped in black and gold regalia, this one is totally high end stuff and there's no way we're not ending 2016 without a pair.

10. Vans X Toy Story - Childhood memories galore. If this doesn't take you back to the classic movie franchise, we don't know what will. Creative, fun and definitely wearable.
